2021 Traverse Towing Varying

The 2021 Chevrolet Traverse is capable of towing 1,500 pounds to 5,000 pounds; however, this weight can vary depending on the equipment you’ve outfitted your Traverse model with. The 2021 Traverse towing capacity can only reach 1,500 pounds with front- or all-wheel driv, unless you equip the available trailering package. On the other hand, if your 2021 Chevy Traverse features the towing packing, you can haul 5,000 pounds worth of cargo with ease.

2021 Chevy Traverse Towing Features & Engine Specs

The 2021 Chevrolet Traverse has seven available configurations here at John Holt Auto Group, Inc.: L, LS, LT Cloth, LT Leather, RS, Premier, and High Country. Each comes equipped with a 3.6L V6 engine that’s capable of 310 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque. The engine is connected to a 9-speed automatic transmission for smooth shifting on the roads in and around Norman. Other trailering technology you can take advantage of across the lineup include:

  • Trailer Sway Control – Trailer Sway Control is included as part of Stabilitrak® Electronic Stability Control System. During towing, this system senses when your trailer begins to sway and can course-correct by applying the brakes.
  • Tow/Haul Mode – The Driver Mode Control dial includes a Tow/Haul mode that automatically adjusts the transmission shift points, so you can tow with ease. During acceleration, the transmission will stay in a lower gear for longer to deliver more torque. As you travel downhill, the transmission will downshift to make it easier to retain your speed without heavily applying the brakes.
  • Available Trailering Package – Installing the towing package adds a hitch to the back of the Traverse, allowing you to hook up a trailer. Additionally, it includes a heavy-duty cooling system, allowing your engine to work harder without overheating.
